BAC librarys & BAC-end Sequencing
Three BAC libraries have been developed from Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Syrah (contact : A-F Adam-Blondon). The Cabernet Sauvignon BAC library has been chosen by the IGGP as a reference and is available at the National Resources Centre for Plant Genomics.
Another BAC library has been developed in collaboration with Génoscope from the nearly homozygous genotype PN40024 in the frame of the grape genome sequencing project and is available at the National Resources Centre for Plant Genomics National Resources Centre for Plant Genomics.
BAC end sequences obtained from Cabernet Sauvignon BAC clones and have been submitted to GenBank.

Whole Genome Shotgun Sequencing
Two projects for sequencing the grapevine genome are under progress:
- A French-Italian collaborative project has released a 8X high quality draft sequence of the nearly homozygous genotype PN40024 in august 2007. The sequence can be queried here and here
- An IASMA project aimed at sequencing the Pinot Noir genome.
